Motivation letter:

Subject: Application for an internship starting In April 2011 to July 2012

Dear Madam, Sir,

I am writing to express my interest in getting an internship in clinical trials. I am a french student at ISSBA,Higher Institute of health and bioproduct of Angers, France. I have so far completed three years of the bachelor's degree in cell biology and pathophysiology, which gave me strong knowledge in those biology areas. I will graduate with a Master's degree in Management of Clinical Trials in 2013.

I am extremely motivated to develop there my work experience in Clinical trials, in the aim of becoming clinical research assistant (CRA). Moreover, having an international career is one of my personal objectives as I measure the importance of the english language in all the scientific areas. Therefore, having a work experience with you could be a great opportunity to become bilingual and starting a clinical trial project. I have a strong desire to attend a 4 month internship in your department, from april 2012 to July 2012.

My education has provided me the strong scientific and technical bases to work in many fields, and particulary in clinical research. Furthermore, my studies have covered a large area from pharmacology, included drugs, pathophysiology and statistics. I am currently preparing a master's degree which is providing me knowledges in management, marketing, how to lead a project, and I am preparing for the TOEIC test for the Febuary session. I have got a strong timespirit and like to work within a team, that's why I am member of an association of theater for long. I also worked in a student association where I had to manage some projects like ball prom organisation.

As you can see from my enclosed resume, I was required to do a research internship and I chose Neurobiology in order to have contacts with human subjects. This experience really gave me the opportunity to know how to manage a project, how real life work is and to have a glimpse of the relationships in this environement. Next to that, to become a good clinical research assistant, I think interpersonal skills, a sense of negociation, ethics and organizational skills are required. These are qualities that I think I have, and I want develop within your institution. Requirements from the profession confirm my desire to progress in this area.

I wish I could put theoretical knowledge into practice with you. I would be honored to work with you on a clinical trial project, and to get all my energy involved to every CRA mission you will put me in charge of this summer. I am convinced that my skills and motivation will prove useful to your department, and I am sure that an internship in such a state-of-the-art and challenging environment will be a very constructive experience for me.

I stand at your disposal to give you letters of recommendation from my previous supervisor or any further information you may need. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me at juliechaffin@hotmail.fr, I will be pleased to answer your questions or organise a telephone interview at your convenience. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in avdance for considering my application.

Sincerely yours,

Julie CHAFFIN
