MicroPICell, Cellular and tissular imaging core facility of Nantes University (Biogenouest)

Description:

The Cellular and tissular imaging core facility of Nantes University (MicroPICell) encompasses two technical departments:

- PICell (for cell imaging)

- MicroMorph (for cellular morphology)

The MicroPICell platform proposes a regulated access to imaging systems and services in histology. 

The expertise of the platform allow technical and scientific assisstance for the development, the realisation and the analysis of research projects and specific experiments. Moreover, MicroPICell organize various trainings to microscopy techniques through the INSERM training programm. 

 

The techniques mastered by MicroPICell include :

- Epifluorescence 

- Microinjection

- Videomicroscopy

- Confocal microscopy

- FLIM (Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy)

- Confocal spectral separation

- High throughput confocal acquisition

- Intracellular ionic measurement

- Histology techniques

- Tissue Micro-Array (TMA)

- Laser microdissection

- Etc.

 

The main equipment of MicroPICell are:

- PICell: confocal Leica (SP1), confocal Nikon (A1-R-S), Zeiss time-lapse equipment with apotome (Axiovert200), Leica time-lapse system (DMI6000B) with Metamorph and Metafluor, Leica microinjection system, 3 routine fluorescence microscopes, Image analysis platform (metamorph, Huygens deconvolution, Amira 3D), CO2 incubators

- MicroMorph: 2 cryostats (Leica), 1 Bond- max Menarini robot, 2 microtomes, TMA (tissue microarrayer, Imstar), laser microdissection (Arcturus Pixcell II)
